Edward "Ed"
Jacobs

Houston Community Center
1:00 - 5:00 pm
Edward Steven Jacobs, 66, of Houston, Minnesota, passed away on April 15th, 2026 at Mayo Clinic of La Crosse, WI.
Edward was born on January 13th, 1960 to Donald and Jeannine Jacobs in Gillette, WY. Edward spent his early years with his family on the Jacobs Ranch in Wyoming before the family relocated to Burnsville, MN, before moving to Lakeville, MN, where he graduated from Lakeville South High School in 1978. After graduating in ‘78, Edward joined the Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic.
It was many years later that Edward would meet Kelly Bosanco on a hunting trip down from Lakeville, Minnesota to Houston, Minnesota, after which he would make many more subsequent trips down to see her, before they were eventually married on December 11th, 1999, and saw the birth of their child, Kloey, in 2000.
After moving to Houston, Edward worked as a mechanic under his father-in-law’s business, Ken’s Repair & Supply. Eventually, Edward moved on to become an employee of the City of Houston’s Public Works Department, where he quickly became an essential part of Houston, Minnesota and was well-known as the man you could come to for any type of tool or repair. He was always happy to oblige.
In his time away from work, Edward greatly enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He was the definition of prepared for anything— with a hunting blind built from scratch and a wagon packed full with everything you could dream of needing for a day of fishing at the river. At home, he could often be found in his garage working on a project, or inside with a cat in his lap. He will be missed dearly by everyone— and every cat— that knew him.
Edward is survived by his wife Kelly; his child, Kloey; his step-son, Jesse Thompson; his mother, Jeannine Jacobs; his sisters, Kathy Jacobs and Donna (Lupe) Valenzuela; his aunt, Marianne Donohue; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Carter Thompson; his father-in-law, Kenneth Konkel; his mother-in-law, Mary Konkel; his sister-in-law, Michelle LeClere; his brother-in-law, Jason Konkel; and his best friend, Leonard Olson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Edward was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gus Jacobs and Charles Donohue; his grandmothers, Irma Jacobs and Myrna Donohue; his uncles, Johnny Jacobs, Chuck Donohue, and Rex Johnson; his aunt, Marjorie Johnson; his father, Donald Steven Jacobs; and his sister, Denise Jacobs.
A celebration of life for Edward will be held June 27th at the Houston Community Center from 1 - 5 P.M.
